Dalia is in Amida's class. Amida asked the parents/grandparents/friends and the students to sit in a circle while she read "The Kissing Hand," a masterful way to prepare the kids for saying goodbye, holding their special person's kiss in their hand and feeling it in their heart. So far, Dalia has had 4 full days of school, with lots and lots of play time, building box houses, music, movement, and Spanish. When asked how school is going, she always says, "great!!"

"It was the BEST day!"
Dalia started Kindergarten at Park Day School in Oakland. We were all welcomed by song and sunshine, the teachers, administration, and head of school sang a welcome song in a round to all of the students and parents. It was so warm and full of pure joy. Dalia and I had spent a little time at the school in the previous week, working at clean-up day -- painting the kindergarten pick-up bench -- and going to the kindergarten potluck. Lots of play on the playground...and a party at Betty and Christopher and Ruby's house the day before school.
